Demarquette hosts Qype Guru Event

12 Qypers taste Demarquette chocolates

Enjoying a qype guru evening at Demarquette Fine Chocolates

On Tuesday evening we hosted 12 eager guru qypers to a special evening of wine and chocolate at our London chocolate shop in Chelsea. It turned out to be a fun and relaxed evening with a group of foodies eager to learn more about fine chocolate and our own story. We decided to take them on a ’round the world’ journey by tasting 10 different chocolates including two flavours from our latest Orient Collection, some award-winning chocolates from ganche and caramel ranges as well as the 3-star gold award winning Ben Tre dark chocolate bar.

And after one qyper asked if we also had truffles with alcohol, Marc added the Caledonian Malt Whisky ganache chocolate into the mix.

The qypers started arriving at 6pm and enjoyed a glass of Pinot Noir Austrian wine especially recommended for the chocolate tasting by Lea & Sandeman. It’s a great way to wind down after a day at the office and meet fellow qypers who all share a passion for food and drink.

But with the air filled with the sweet smell of chocolate everyone couldn’t wait to get stuck in to the tasting. Marc introduced the world of chocolate, it’s provenance, texture, variety and complexity whilst also explaining how his own chocolates are made right here in London.

The group was great, asking lot’s of questions and making the evening very interactive and enjoyable for all and when Marc started demonstrating how to make a fresh lemon infused ganache, not only did the spoons come out but we all got a cup full of ganache – after 11 chocolates, a cup full of ganache and numerous glasses of wine we were all on a great chocolate high!

What is Qype (for those new to it)?

Qype isn’t just about discovering new places, it’s also great for sharing your own experiences and swapping recommendations for the best (and worst) places you know.

Qype is home to a huge community of passionate and opinionated users who love to let people know their thoughts on where they ate lunch, which electrician they use, and even where they buy their underwear.
